Wolfgangsee with Mondsee in the distance
St Wolfgang is the pearl of the Salzkammergut, nestling on the shores of the Lake Wolfgang. In the middle ages it was a site of pilgrimages and in more recent years was world famous as the location of the operetta “The White Horse Inn”.
The village offers something for all ages. There are excellent restaurants, cultural events and sporting attractions in the village and throughout the Salzkammergut region. In winter there is top class skiing, in the warmer months walking, cycling and watersports. The village also plays host to the increasingly popular Wolfgangsee Advent market

Wolfgangsee Cliff-diving
St Gilgen is just 30 minutes from Salzburg and the airport. Nestling between the Zwoelferhorn mountain and Lake Wolfgang the traditional village of St Gilgen is famous for it's associations with the Mozart family. In 2005 St. Gilgen was promoted as the "Mozart Village" by the Wolfgangsee Tourist Board. Although Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart never visited St. Gilgen (as he had intended to), his grandfather worked in the town, his mother was born in St. Gilgen, and his sister Nannerl moved there after her marriage.
St Gilgen is also home to the St Gilgen International School.
St. Gilgen is a well-known travel destination. Boats from St. Gilgen sail around the Wolfgangsee, providing transport and views of the surrounding mountains. The hermitage of the original St. Gilgen may be seen, behind a chapel, in the Falkenstein cliffs west of St. Wolfgang and east of Fürberg.
In winter there is also good access to skiing at Dachstein West, Dachstein Krippenstein and Gaissau-Hintersee.
These really are properties which can be used year round for holidays.
