The Salzkammergut region is easy to access
By CAR:
The region is easy to access from Central Europe with good motorway access to Munich and Vienna.
From the UK it is about 12 hours drive from the Channel ports.
If you are travelling from the north of England there are excellent ferry crossings from Hull and Newcastle to Holland. These put you close to the German autobahns for a "swift" drive to Austria

The region has good train links to Salzburg and Vienna and from there to the whole of Europe.

Going by air
The nearest airports to the Salzammergut region are Salzburg and Linz. Both are under an hour from most parts of the region. There are also easy connections to the airports at Munic,Vienna and Graz. All of these are within 3 hours drive of the region.
The low cost European airlines have regular flights to all these airports. Take a look at their websites for details.
